Hydrostatic head

The hydrostatic head indicates how waterproof a product is. The higher the hydrostatic head, the higher waterproofness.

• 0 - 1,000 mm: Water repellent, but not waterproof.
• 1,000 - 5,000 mm: Waterproof, but not pressure-resistant.
• 5,000 - 15,000 mm: Waterproof, except under very high pressure.
• 15,000 - 30,000 mm: Waterproof, even at very high pressure.

Breathability (MVTR)

Breathability indicates how breathable a product is. The higher the number, the more breathable the product is.

• 0 - 5,000: Unsuitable for strenuous activities.
• 5,000 - 10,000: Suitable for light exertion.
• 10,000 - 15,000: Suitable for medium exertion.
• 15,000 - 40,000: Suitable for heavy exertion.
